DHD Farm THEMIS Twister and DHD Farm THEMIS Flash

These two boys are out of TLC-Farms Outlaw Mariachi and Fruitful-Acres Solar Storm.  They were born April 13, 2018 while severe weather reports were blowing up my phone and the sky threatened rain.  I had decided long before they were born that all of Stormy’s kids would have space-themed names, so I started looking up spacecraft and celestial bodies.  I found the THEMIS mission, a “2-year mission consisting of 5 identical probes that will study the violent, colorful eruptions of Auroras.” This was perfect, since auroras are a product of solar storms.  I looked into the meaning of the word Themis, and found this: “THEMIS was the Titan goddess of divine law and order--the traditional rules of conduct first established by the gods.” Considering their sire’s name is Outlaw Mariachi, I thought this juxtaposition of law and order to outlaw fitting.  That one word combines their sire and their dam’s names perfectly. My area was under a thunderstorm advisory and a tornado warning at the time, so their names just sort of fell together flawlessly!

DHD Farm Aurora Australis and DHD Farm Aurora Borealis

These two kids are out of a lovely doe named Fruitful-Acres Aurora Fire, who is out of Fruitful-Acres Solar Storm.  To keep with the space theme that I am keeping with all of Stormy’s kids and her kids’ kids, I wanted to name her kids after the northern and southern lights, also known as the auroras borealis and australis, and I wanted a buckling to keep as a wether, so imagine my delight when I got Bo and Allie!

DHD Farm Rose Nylund and DHD Farm Sophia Petrillo

These two girls are out of a lovely doe named The Phoebe Buffay.  You may recognize the name! She was named for the Friends character of the same name, and I had decided the day I purchased her that I would name all of her kids after sitcom characters!  Rose and Sophia are both named for characters from The Golden Girls. I wanted to name Rose such because she is a very light red roan, and she looks pink! Sophia was so named because I thought it sounded the cutest, and she and her sister are two of my favorite kids I’ve gotten this season!

DHD Farm Dorothy P Zbornak

This girl, nicknamed Didi, is out of a lovely doe named The Monica Geller.  Just like her sister Phoebe, Monica is named for the Friends character of the same name, and I intended to keep the same naming convention for her kids as I am her sister’s.  To keep with the theme of The Golden Girls, I named her after Dorothy Zbornak! Too bad she was a single; if she’d had a twin sister I would have gotten a complete set!
